A Perfect Shopping Day in Kennebunkport, Maine (With Local Gems You’ll Love)

If you’re planning a coastal getaway, there’s nothing quite like spending a full day shopping in Kennebunkport, Maine. This charming seaside town is packed with unique boutiques, indie shops, and cozy cafés that make it feel more like a curated neighborhood than a tourist stop. You'll find a lot of the shops are owned and run by locals. Here’s a casually curated, walkable itinerary to help you make the most of your shopping day.

Start Your Morning at Fia Fia

Kick things off with something fresh and energizing. Fia Fia is the perfect place to grab a smoothie to fuel your day. Known for its vibrant, health-forward menu, this bright little spot offers creative blends that hit the spot just right before a day of browsing and strolling.

Right next door is Benoit's Boutique

Just a short walk away, Benoit’s Boutique is a must for anyone who loves coastal style with a polished twist. Expect thoughtfully chosen clothing and accessories that balance classic New England charm with modern flair. The father and daughter owners are charming and know their stuff.

Discover Hidden Treasures at Minka

A few steps down, you’ll find Minka which in our opinion is a true standout. This shop feels like it belongs in a city neighborhood rather than a seaside village. Inside, you’ll discover a beautifully curated mix of indie art, accessories, and home goods. Everything here feels intentional, unique, and refreshingly non-touristy. Artisan owners, Michelle and Chris also sell their own goods in the store including a jewelry line, a handmade all-natural body-care line and their famous I LIKE IT HERE  brand of apparel. Each section of the store is curated similar to the rooms on their website, like the Golden Suite

Cross the Street to Daytrip Society

Daytrip Society is playful and full of personality. It’s the kind of shop where you’ll find gifts you didn’t know you needed. It's filled with fun items that make perfect souvenirs (or treats for yourself). Owners Jess and Andy are Kennebunkport locals.

Right next door, Dock Square Coffee Shop is an absolute gem. This adorable little café has recently been taken over by new owners, Nate and Baily, who’ve brought fresh energy while keeping its cozy charm. It’s the ideal spot to pause, sip a great cup of coffee, and soak in the town’s relaxed vibe.

Take a scenic walk up Ocean Avenue, where the marina's are and and pop into La La Luna. This boutique is effortlessly stylish, offering a mix of clothing, accessories, and unique finds that feel both relaxed and refined. The owner, Kennebunk native Laura McCullough, has a great eye for modern fashion.

Grab a Bottle at Maine & Vine

Before heading back toward Dock Square, stop into Maine & Vine to pick up a bottle of wine for later. It’s a charming specialty shop with a great selection of wines and gourmet goodies, perfect for a cozy evening after your shopping day.
