New York City is so big, it make a lot of sense to map it borough by borough. When looking at each borough, it's obvious just how much history and cultural diversity there is. Brooklyn is NYC's largest borough by population, and it has attracted so many ambitious people with a gorgeous multiplicity of backgrounds. Manifold influence has set upon this place, turning over and over, decade after decade. The structure came together as many different, smaller, villages converged, making it a great deal more complicated than Manhattan.

An 8x8 Letterpress Print designed by Archie Archambault of Archies Prints.

ABOUT THE IDEA
So why all the circles? Research indicates that GPS's are hindering our ability to create mental maps of our surroundings. The maps aim to install a "Map from the Mind" for each city, simplifying structures and districts in the simplest terms. Each design is taken as a new challenge, using the knowledge of locals to create a map that is both beautiful and useful.

ABOUT LETTERPRESS PRINTING
Letterpress is a very complicated and expensive printing method. All Letterpress are slammed with 600 pounds of pressure, creating a deep, tactile texture. The ink gets embedded into the thick soft paper so it won't fade within your lifetime.
